PUBLICATION INFORMATION
March 1, 2004
TO: Participants at the Southern Conservation Tillage Conference for Sustainable Agriculture
FROM: David Jordan, Planning Committee Chair
Please note that if you are presenting a paper or poster you will need to submit your manuscript in electronic format by April 1, 2004. Directions for paper development and submission can be found under 'Publication Guidelines' below. Please note that your paper has been assigned a new number and is provided in the attached program listing. This is also found on the web site. Please use the new number when saving and submitting your manuscript electronically. Full papers will be required for the all posters and for the oral presentations in the afternoon. For those speakers who were invited to participate in the morning session entitled “Conservation Tillage Production in North Carolina ”, full papers are encouraged. However, these presentations may not be associated with a specific scientific experiment that is easily written in manuscript form, especially for presentations made by Cooperative Extension agents and farmers. Summaries will be accepted for these presentations, and the format and directions for preparation of the summaries are listed in the enclosure. However, all participants with the exception of speakers in the morning session must submit full papers.
We will certainly provide a proceedings for the meeting with either an official experiment station bulletin number. However, whether or not we provide a full printed copy of the proceedings at the meeting or a cd copy will depend on the funding we receive. We are hoping to keep the registration fee as low as possible, and the amount of funds received will dictate whether or not we provide a printed or cd version of the proceedings. We most likely will provide the abstract for each paper in the program we hand out at the meeting.
Poster size will be no more than 4’ by 4’ and will be attached a corkboards. Space is limited for the poster session, and therefore posters larger than 4’ by 4’ will not be permitted.
Oral presentations will be made using LCD projection. Files cannot exceed 25 MB and must be saved in PowerPoint 97-2000 format for MS Windows. Because we have a very tight schedule in the technical program, all presentations will need to be received by June 3, 2004 for loading on the computer. Please send presentations via cd to my address: David Jordan, Box 7620, NC State University, 4207 Williams Hall, 100 Derieux Place, Raleigh, NC 27695-7620. Please bring a copy of your presentation on cd just in case there is a problem with our equipment. Presentations can be e-mailed or sent on CD-R technology. Please include your name and paper number when submitting the cd or e-mail.
Thank you for your participation at the conference and thank you in advance for your timely submission of manuscripts and power point presentations. Please feel free to call me at 919-515-4068 or contact me via e-mail if you have questions (david_jordan@ncsu.edu).
